 A Mental Five is where someone imagines the pleasure of high fiving without actually partaking in a high five - possibly if they've been left hanging by someone. The Mental Five is used by Dr Todd Quinlan in episode three of season three of the TV series Scrubs. When an annoyed JD leaves Todd hanging, the Todd responds with a "Mental Five!".
